The Kirkwood-Dirac (KD) distribution plays a pivotal role in recent studies on exploring non-classical phenomena and quantum advantages, attributing to the presence of non-positive values within the KD distributions of a quantum state. Therefore, it becomes imperative to identify the KD non-classical states, i.e., the quantum states with negative values in the corresponding KD distributions. This work presents a symmetrical methodology on detecting non-classical KD distributions in both single and multi-qubit scenarios. Additionally, it introduces a new measure of KD nonclassicality and demonstrate its effectiveness through numerical experiments. Furthermore, it also applies results to weak values and present a criterion to determine whether or not an observable has anomalous weak values.

麻志浩,上海交通大学数学科学学院教授, 研究方向是量子信息以及量子力学基础问题。研究重点是量子纠缠、量子关联、量子不确定关系、量子计算(尤其是量子算法)。目前,在包括《Science》(科学) 子刊《Science Advances》(科学进展),《Physical Review Letters》,《npj Quantum Information》,科学伙伴期刊《Research》,《Information Sciences》,《New Journal of Physics》, 《Physical Review A》等国际权威主流学术刊物发表论文50多篇,所得成果被人民网、新华社、美国物理学会、美国物理学家组织网报道。
